Transport & Gear
Overland Trucks
Our custom built overland trucks are well suited to the roads and sometimes rugged terrain we use on our tours. Our vehicles don’t just look good, they are built to, and surpass, the most current National Bureau of Standards safety guidelines. We carry vital spares and tools and have support and back up arrangements throughout Africa. We attend driving and maintenance training courses with our vehicle suppliers and are able to carry out daily checks and road side repairs if necessary.
Safari Touring Vehicles
Safari Touring vehicles, are generally able to travel on much rougher roads than the larger trucks but in some countries allow for fewer un-obscured game viewing and photographic opportunities. Many tours will use a combination of Trucks and Safari Touring Vehicles.
Gear
Our camping and mobile tour equipment is maintained to the highest standard and replaced on a continual basis. Our tents are large, comfortable and 100% waterproof. For crockery, cutlery and cooking we adhere to strict hygiene guidelines and generally use stainless steel and easily cleanable materials.
Travel Services
Independent Travel Services
Many travellers and travel agents are sometimes surprised to learn that a significant portion of our business consists of Independent Travel— either Tailor Made tours constructed from the ground up to meet your specifications, or Private Tours based on one of our scheduled itineraries, that allow you to travel exclusively with family or friends.
Private Tours
Though we obviously don’t have anything against group travel, we know that many of our travellers sometimes enjoy private trips.
Our Private Tours offer a chance to journey on set itineraries, at a date of your choosing, with just your friends or loved ones and receive all the same services that you would when travelling on one of our scheduled group tours. We invite you to explore the itineraries on our Website and to call us for more information.
These trips combine the convenience of frequent departure date options (some even available daily) with the pleasure of savouring amazing travel experiences with friends and family.
Tailor Made
Most tour operators will tell you how eager they are to plan custom trips and how quickly they will get back to you. But to be honest, they aren’t, and they won’t. Creating new, unique itineraries is time consuming and labour intensive. It requires care, experience, imagination, and understanding. We've become good at it, we like it, and we’ve got a successful track record to prove it.
We are honest with you up front about how long it takes to answer your request, and we ensure a quality tour. We don’t rush things and we put together value for money tours.
Our travel consultants and operations staff routinely organise complex and difficult travel logistics, putting together trips of all kinds to just about most African locations, for couples, groups of friends, schools , universities, museums, corporate groups, a variety of non-profit groups, and families.
Our Tailor made tours are created to match your specications. They often cost more than our regularly scheduled trips, but our clients find the chance to customize their travel well worth the extra cost.
These tours match the specifications of our clients. If you have a travel dream, or just want to alter one of our standard scheduled itineraries, or do something really unique, just contact one of our travel consultants.
